Clipzoom Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
Clipzoom is a screen recorder for the Mac. Recording, editing, noise reduction and export all happen on your Mac.
Your recordings never leave your Mac
What Clipzoom records (your screen, your camera, your microphones and your Mac's sound) is saved as files in the Movies folder on your Mac, and the videos you export are saved beside them. We never upload, transmit, collect or have access to any of it, not even in anonymised form.
No analytics, no tracking, no accounts
Clipzoom has no analytics, no advertising, no third-party tracking SDKs and no user accounts, and it makes no network connections. We do not collect any personal information about you.
Screen, camera and microphone access
macOS asks for your permission before Clipzoom can see your screen, camera or microphones. Clipzoom uses them only for the sources you pick in the recorder: to show you a preview or a level meter, and to record once you start. Nothing is recorded in the background, and nothing is sent anywhere. You can withdraw these permissions at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
What is stored on your Mac
Your recordings, the edits you make to them and your exports are files in Movies/Clipzoom, which you can move or delete like any other file. Your recorder and export settings are kept in the app's own storage. Removing the app deletes its settings; your recordings stay in your Movies folder until you delete them.
Purchases
Clipzoom is bought through the Mac App Store. Apple handles the payment under its own privacy policy; we receive no payment details from it.
Children
Because Clipzoom collects no data, it is safe for users of all ages.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new “last updated” date.
